Outdoor Recreational Amenities to remain open during lockdown

The Township of Terrace Bay is keeping most outdoor recreational amenities open during the province-wide lockdown and stay at home order. We are reminding residents to continue to obey all public health measures as per the Province’s Stay at Home Order that is now in effect. You can read the Order https://bit.ly/3srFElN,

The outdoor rink (volunteer run), sliding hills, parks, and recreational trails will remain open at this time.

Reminder that the Outdoor Rink (volunteer run) will be open to the public but organized games or practices are not allowed.

Residents are reminded when using outdoor recreational amenities to continue to practice physical distancing and to wear a face covering if physical distancing is a challenge.

Under the provincial lockdown orders, outdoor gatherings are limited to fewer than five people.

All indoor recreation facilities, including the fitness room, remain CLOSED by provincial order until further notice. Recreation Members will have their memberships extended for the period of the closure.

The public is still advised to only leave home for essential purposes and continue to follow and obey all public health guidelines.

The Terrace Bay Municipal Office will remain OPEN from Monday to Friday - 10:00am to 8:00pm and Saturday - 10:00am to 4:00pm for front counter service only through this next provincial order/stage. These hours have been reduced in accordance with Provincial Regulations.  All current COVID-19 restrictions and protocols remain in place and will be strictly enforced. A mask must be worn at all times while inside the Community Centre.  All patrons will be asked to fill out a screening form.  Anyone showing signs or symptoms associated with COVID-19 are asked to not enter the building.

Municipal Office Services
While the Municipal Office is open, we recommend the following:

Please only come into the Municipal Office if it is essential –  for purchasing of garbage tags, landfill cards, dog tags and paying bills.

Did you know - utility and tax bills can be paid online through your financial institution. Credit card payments can be taken over the phone if necessary.

If you are applying for a building permit or planning application, please call the Municipal Office at 807-825-3315.

Terrace Bay Cultural Centre
Seniors Centre and Michael King Hall are CLOSED.

Open for curbside pick up only.  Call the Library at 807.825.3315 x222

Fire/Burning Permits
All existing 2020 fire permits will be extended until Feb 1, 2021, provided your pit was inspected in 2020 and has not been moved or altered since inspection. New permits cannot be issued at this time due to COVID-19 / current lockdown restrictions.

Council Meetings
All Council meetings will revert to virtual meetings until further notice. Links to the virtual meetings will be posted on the municipal website and on Township social media.  Please contact the CAO/Clerk’s Office if you have questions.

Effective Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 12:01 a.m., a stay-at-home order is being issued for 28 days - requiring everyone to remain at home, with exceptions for essential purposes, such as going to the grocery store or pharmacy, accessing health care services, getting exercise or for essential work.
Additional public health measures added to help stop the spread of COVID-19 include:
  • Outdoor public events and gatherings restricted to 5 people, with exceptions
  • Mandatory face covering in the indoor areas of businesses or organizations.
