Posted on July 6, 2018

The Township of Terrace Bay will be holding a public meeting on August 7, 2018, regarding an amendment to regulate the parking and storing of recreational vehicles, boats, quads, snowmobiles and utility trailers in the Low Density Residential and Multiple Residential (MR) Zones.

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Terrace Bay will be holding a public meeting under Section 34 of the Planning Act to consider an amendment to By-law 10-2016, the comprehensive zoning by-law of the Township of Terrace Bay. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 6:00 pm at the Municipal Office, 1 Selkirk Avenue, Terrace Bay.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The purpose of the amendment is to regulate the parking and storing of recreational vehicles, boats, quads, snowmobiles and utility trailers in the Low Density Residential and Multiple Residential (MR) Zones. The effect is to limit the number vehicle units that may be parked or stored to three per lot. The effect is to also limit the parking or storing of these vehicles to a side yard, a rear yard or a driveway except in the winter months (Nov. 15th to April 14th) where a snowmobile, a quad or a utility trailer may be parked in a cleared area in the front yard. The proposed by-law will also allow an RV to be used once for accommodation for up to 14 days during the period April 15th to November 14th. The zoning amendment will replace part of section 2.24 of by-law No. 10-2016. No key map is provided since this is a general amendment applicable to properties throughout the municipality.
