The Municipality is continuing to evaluate a potential project involving the construction of a Supportive Housing facility for Seniors and Persons with Disabilities. We would like to further develop the concept with public feedback and need the input from potential users of the building, caregivers, and loved ones.

Background
The Township of Terrace Bay has identified a signifcant need for supportive housing in the community for seniors, persons with disabilities, and respite care.  As such, a committee has been formed to develop the business case and feasibility study of this need with the goal of achieving an acceptable level of supportive housing for these target groups in Terrace Bay.

The need for supportive housing in Terrace Bay for these demographics has also been identified by the Thunder Bay District Social Services and Administration Board in their housing strategy.

Expression of Interest - Issued November 19, 2011
The Steering Committee evaluating the need for supportive housing in Terrace Bay would like to welcome expressions of interest from the private and non-profit sector.  We have identified a need for a 20 unit facility for Seniors and Persons with Disabilities and are looking for partners to further develop the project.  The Municipality would like to identify a private or non-profit partner interested in building the facility and operating it in Terrace Bay.  The Community would assist as a local liaison and possibly with land options for the building.  The Municipality would also welcome expressions from interested property management companies.

We are currently evaluating the four proposals that were received
