The Terrace Bay Cultural Centre will be officially opened on Friday November 26th.  The Cultural Centre is made up of a Community Hall, Public Library and Seniors Centre.

The Michael King Hall is now open for residents to enjoy.  It will host community events, private rentals, and be used for recreational programming.  The Hall has a capacity of 280 persons.  Rentals are now being accepted for the Hall.

LIBRARY HOURS OF OPERATION  (effective January 8, 2011)
The Terrace Bay Public Library will be adjusting its operating hours in 2011 to the following:

The Terrace Bay Public Library originated in 1948 in a small room that served as the recreation building during the construction of the K.C. Mill and then became the Moose Hall.  In 1950 there was a move to another small room in the back of what is now Green Cats.  In 1963 it settled in the Terrace Bay Recreation Center and has moved three times in this building.  In 1980 when major renovations were undertaken in the Recreation Center the library moved to our present location which was a completely new facility for the library with built-in circulation desk and adequate shelving to house all our library materials.  We celebrated Terrace Bay's 50th anniversary in 1997 with a new fully automated card catalogue and circulation system.  In 2004 (Ontario Early Years) and 2005 (Trillium Foundation) we received grants to begin replacing our metal shelving with new oak shelving in the children's section and adult non-fiction areas.  The Terrace Bay Public Library is pleased to announce that it has received its accreditation under the Ontario Public Library Guidelines Program.

Terrace Bay Seniors Activity Centre 13 Selkirk Avenue, P.O. Box 1208, Terrace Bay, ON  P0T 2W0 Phone:  807-825-3315 ext. 244   The Superior Seniors invite everyone 55 years and older to join them for social events, programs/activities, health and wellness sessions.   Come join us for a coffee, a game of pool, darts or just good conversation at our newly created drop-in centre.

We are very excited to get a home of our own, and look forward to improving and expanding options for the senior population lifestyle in our community.
