Supportive/Independent Living Housing Project

The Township of Terrace Bay, in partnership with CGV Developments Inc. and Harriman & Associates, are in the planning stages of developing a supportive/independent living housing project in the Terrace Bay community.

At the initial stages of this project, an application to the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) is being completed to fund a Needs and Demand Study that will be carried out by Harriman & Associates. The purpose of the study is to identify and outline the demand for supportive/independent living housing, from which point—if strong demand for housing has been identified—the Township of Terrace Bay will move forward with the entirety of the project.

A survey has been mailed out to Terrace Bay residents, as well as to the residents of Schreiber, Jackfish, Pays Plat and Rossport. The purpose of the survey is to help determine interest from the regional community on supportive/independent living housing from those individuals what would benefit from it—the results from the survey are an important piece in the Needs and Demand Study.
