As per Article 15 of the UNIFOR Union Agreement, applications are now being accepted for the position of Temporary Part-Time Library Assistant 2 at the Terrace Bay Public Library.  The Library Assistant 2 will provide evening (Mon – Wed) & weekend (winter months) service and relief hours as required.


  • High School Graduation with demonstrated computer skills
  • Library technician diploma or related library experience
  • Minimum 1 year experience in clerical, reception and cashier positions


  • Ability to accurately and efficiently keyboard and perform data entry
  • Knowledgeable user of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher
  • Able to work co-operatively with other staff and deal with customers in a cheerful, patient and flexible manner

RATE OF PAY:  In accordance with the Collective Agreement Schedule A, the salary for this position:

Start:  $17.53/hour                 6 months:  $21.28/hour                1 year:  $25.24/hour

POSITION OPENING DATE:      Friday, September 2nd, 2022

POSITION CLOSING DATE:       Friday, September 16th, 2022 @ 5pm
