Household Hazardous Waste Day
The Township of Terrace Bay will be hosting its annual Household Hazardous Waste Day on:
Friday, May 29, 2026
10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Terrace Bay Tourism Information Centre Parking Lot
This event is open to residents of Terrace Bay and Schreiber only.
Accepted materials include:
- Anti-freeze
- Compact fluorescent light bulbs and tubes
- Fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and containers
- Oil containers (30 litres or less) and used oil filters
- Paints and coatings along with containers
- Pressurized containers (propane tanks and fire extinguishers)
- Rechargeable batteries (please separate from single-use batteries)
- Single-use batteries (excluding car batteries)
- Solvents and paint strippers
Please note:
- Commercial or industrial hazardous waste will not be accepted
- Car batteries are not accepted and should be taken to local automotive businesses
- Electronic waste will not be accepted
Residents are encouraged to begin setting aside materials in preparation for the event.
