Economic Development Officer
The Economic Development Officer (EDO) will work towards advancing the Township’s Strategic Plan priorities related to economic development. The EDO will develop, coordinate, and implement initiatives that support business growth, economic diversification, and investment attraction within the municipality and facilitate connections between stakeholders (local businesses, entrepreneurs, regional partners) to strengthen the local economy.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in economic development, business administration, public administration, planning, marketing, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in economic development, community development, municipal government, business support, or project management considered an asset.
- Knowledge of government funding programs, grant writing, and economic development tools are considered assets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Experience working with businesses, community organizations, and stakeholders.
- Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

Greens & Turf Maintenance Superintendent - Aguasabon Golf Course
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Normal season is May1 through Oct. 15th. Contract Salary is negotiable depending on experience.
- Plan, Coordinate, and direct all turf and golf course work done daily by paid and volunteer workers. Hours of work vary throughout the season depending on weather, workload and quantity of golfers.
- Monitor available Fuel and order Gas and diesel as required.
- Ensure the pin placements are changed weekly at a minimum and as required for tournaments or maintenance.
- Organize a list of volunteer workers and coordinate the normal routine jobs done by this group. Ex: Cutting Fairways, Rough, Tee Boxes and Fringes.
- Follow the established seasonal schedule of normal turf maintenance as much as conditions allow. Ex: Top Dressing, verticutting, aeration, overseeding, fertilizing, divot mix for Tee Boxes, etc.
- Coordinate with Landscape/Exterminator license holder to order Fertilizer and turf care products for each season.
- Monitor the condition of Course signs, markers, fences, rakes, etc. and paint or replace as necessary.
- Ensure trash and recyclables are removed as required (weekly).
- Schedule all work and keep records of all workers time and jobs done.
- Ensure all work is done in a safe and efficient manner.
- Monitor the condition of the turf and adjust work plan as necessary to maintain turf in healthy condition.
- Organize work parties (volunteers) for special projects. Ex: Sod replacement, tree/brush clearing, new installations/modifications (Greens, Tees).
- Operate Irrigation system and maintain all system components in good repair. Keep irrigation heads trimmed (grass) and visible. Keep accurate records of run time and water usage, submit reports.
- Prepare the golf course and all equipment for opening of the golf season and Closing of the course for winter. EX: Winterizing all machines and Irrigation system, Snow fencing, Signs, Benches etc.
- If not certified as Landscape/Exterminator license holder then coordinate with license holder for the safe/timely application of products.
- Coordinate Turf care machinery adjustments, back-lapping and repairs with the Maintenance Person.
- Coordinate snow removal from greens in early spring and apply ice cutting fertilizer.
- Ensure the clubhouse area grass is maintained.
- Report to golf executive greens chairperson.

Landscape / Exterminator and IPM (integrated pest management) License and Certification Holder - Aguasabon Golf Course
NOTE: The holder of the Landscape/Exterminator licence – IPM certification and the Greens/Turf MTCE superintendent can be the same person. Salary is negotiable and based on experience.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Normal season is April 1st through Oct. 31st. Contract Salary is negotiable based on experience.
- Must hold & maintain current Landscape/Exterminator license as well as IPM (Integrated Pest Management) certification. Will consider applicant that is under the training of our current certified license holder.
- Maintain as per regulations all required Records, Reports, Audit information and submit required reports/records on time.
- Prepare and record a minimum of one Scouting (Turf Condition) form per week.
- Prepare Pest control product application forms for every application of restricted products.
- Order and maintain the necessary inventory of Turf Care Products including Fertilizers, Fungicides, Pesticides, Insecticides, ETC. NOTE: Use previous inventory list provided by EVEN SPRAY INC. in Winnipeg as a guide.
- Follow the typically normal schedule of product application from previous years and adjust schedule and products as conditions require. Example schedule is provided in our records.
- Follow all legal protocols as per regulations when using and storing products and equipment.
- Past years schedules can be a guide to scheduling current years spray schedule.
- Maintain the spray equipment and preform calibration testing annually.
- Use all required safety equipment.
- Monitor weather forecast and prevent waste of product due to excessive wind or rain conditions during or after spraying.
- Report to Golf executive greens chairperson.

Golf Course Machinery/Equipment Maintenance Technician - Aguasabon Golf Course
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Contract salary/ hourly pay is negotiable and based on qualifications.
- Perform normal preventative maintenance and repairs or parts replacements on all golf course machines and equipment.
- Schedule and perform regular Lubrication maintenance as recommended by manufacturer on all machinery requiring: Oil/Filter changes, Greasing, Gear Oil level/changes, Transmission oil levels/changes.
- Maintain all machines in a safe operating condition as per regulation. Ex: Brakes, Steering components, lights, wheels etc.
- Maintain a record of all maintenance done on each machine including time required, parts #s and suppliers’ info.
- Advise/ Coordinate with Greens Superintendent on Parts/ Equipment to be ordered/purchased. Order necessary parts, oil, and grease as required.
- Plan and coordinate with greens superintendent a regular schedule of cutting reel back lapping (specifically the greens mowers) to maintain a sharp cutting edge throughout the season.
- Maintain the workshop in an orderly safe condition.
- Either sharpen and repair / replace cutting reels and bed knives annually (winter) or prepare these components for shipping to a contract sharpening company.
- Prepare/ winterize all machinery and equipment for winter storage so it’s all ready to use in the spring.

Summer Student Jobs - Aguasabon Golf Course
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Minimum of 2 summer students will be hired to work after school/weekends (occasional) and daily (when required) during summer break. Payment is student minimum wage per hour and hours of work will be determined by the Greens/Turf care Superintendent. Approximate normal hours are: 2 to 3 hours after school (2 days per week); Weekends when required 6:30am to 2pm. Weekdays during summer break 6:30am to 2pm when required.
- Work under the direction of the Greens/Turf care Superintendent to perform daily golf course jobs.
- May be trained to operate certain turf care machines such as: Greens Mowers, Lawn Mower, Whipper Snipper, Work cars.
- May be scheduled to execute duties such as: Pick Up Driving Range Balls, Cut Grass, Prepare and spread divot mix (soil & seed) around the Tee Boxes, empty trash cans, fill ball washers, rake sand traps, use whip pole or rope to remove morning dew from greens, help during top dressing aerating and other duties as required.
- Must follow all safety rules and instructions as directed by supervisor.
- Must be able and willing to wear safety equipment such as safety work footwear, safety glasses, hard hats etc.
- Must not use electronic devices (cell phones) while operating machines or using tools.
- Learn golf etiquette and respect the golfers while working on the course. Instruction provided by Greens Superintendent.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Summer Student Employment Program, you must satisfy the following criteria:
- Between 15 and 30 years of age.
- A Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or someone who has been officially granted refugee protection in Canada and legally entitled to work in Canada (which means you must have a valid Social Insurance Number).
Hiring Process
STEP 1: Application phase. All applicants are given the opportunity to apply from March 17 to April 24, 2026. The closing time for all applications is 5:00 pm Eastern Standard Time (EST) on April 24, 2026.
STEP 2: Assessment phase. This will take place during the month of April. All applications will be reviewed and the interview process may begin. If selected for an interview, you may be contacted by email and/or telephone, as per the information provided on your application.
STEP 3: Decision Making and Selection phase. This will take place throughout the month of April and early May. Successful applicant’s credentials and job specific qualifications will be reviewed and copies collected. If successful, a verbal job offer will be issued.
STEP 4: Hiring and Documentation phase. This will take place either in April or in the beginning of May.
