The Township of Terrace Bay Fire & Emergency Services Department provides fire and emergency services, on a volunteer basis.

Want to become a volunteer member of the Terrace Bay Fire & Emergency Services Department? Apply Today! We are always looking for new applicants. Please print and submit your application to the Terrace Bay Community Centre Office. Applications are also available at the Community Centre Office or the Terrace Bay Fire Hall.

Transportation

The Superior Seniors Club, in partnership with the Township of Terrace Bay, offers transportation to Thunder Bay and Marathon for medical and health-related appointments, including dental, physiotherapy, optometry, and more. This service is available to all residents of Terrace Bay, Schreiber, Jackfish, Rossport, and Pays Plat.

The program provides door-to-door service, ensuring you arrive at your appointment on time and are safely returned home. For multi-day trips, the service will take you to your accommodations and pick you up on your scheduled return date at no additional cost.

If you qualify for the Northern Health Travel Grant, you may be eligible to have transportation costs reimbursed by the Province of Ontario.

Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance and are on a first-come, first-served basis. To book an appointment, please contact the Terrace Bay Senior’s Centre (Office hours from 10:00am – 12:00pm and 1:00pm to 3:00pm; if office is closed please leave a message).

Please note that the vehicle is not medically equipped and thus passengers must be mobile with minimal assistance.

All residents of Terrace Bay and Schreiber who are 55 and over, or who are temporarily or permanently disabled are eligible to use this service.

The Service is not just for medical appointments! You can book the Handi-Transit van for any trip within or between Terrace Bay and Schreiber, whether for shopping, attending a meeting or just visiting!

Please make sure to call 24 hours in advance to book the van.
