As Remembrance Day approaches, the Township of Terrace Bay would like to remind local organizations, businesses and community members wishing to place a wreath that wreath orders must be submitted by Friday, October 16, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.
Remembrance Day is an opportunity for our community to come together to honour and remember the courage, service and sacrifice of those who have served and continue to serve our country.
Those wishing to participate through the placement of a wreath are encouraged to ensure their orders are submitted before the deadline.

The Township of Terrace Bay is seeking a motivated, organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Permanent Full-Time Office Clerk.
Reporting to the Treasurer/Deputy Clerk, the Office Clerk provides comprehensive administrative and front-office support while managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. As a first point of contact for customers, vendors and visitors, the successful candidate will play an important role in providing professional and efficient service while supporting the Township’s day-to-day financial and administrative operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer and direct phone calls, greet visitors, and respond to emails and inquiries.
- Process invoices and enter and verify financial transactions.
- Issue customer invoices, record payments and follow up on outstanding receivables.
- Prepare deposits and reconcile accounts.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documents.
- Perform data entry and other administrative duties as required.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Provide back-up support to the Accounting Clerk as needed, including payroll.
- Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Post-secondary education in accounting or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience as an Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Clerk or in a similar role.
- Previous banking experience is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with basic accounting procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Superior organizational, customer service and time-management skills.
- A meticulous and detail-oriented approach to their work.

The Municipality of Terrace Bay will once again be offering a Snow Removal Assistance Program to eligible individuals, couples and families who require assistance with snow removal.
ELIGIBILITY
To qualify for the program, a household must meet one of the following requirements. Current supporting documentation must be provided at the time of application.
65 years of age or older and provide proof that you are financially unable to make arrangements (i.e., HST rebate or Trillium), or
Physically handicapped and provide proof that you are financially unable to make arrangements (i.e., disability pension) or
To have the fee waived, a senior who is 65 years or over must provide evidence at the time of application that they are receiving the Guaranteed Income Supplement.
Important Eligibility Requirement
-There must be NO person living at the address who is physically capable of removing snow.

The Township of Terrace Bay is advising motorists that new Stop signs have now been installed at two intersections in the community:
- Cartier Road at Lakeview Drive – westbound traffic on Cartier Road must now stop.
- Hudson Drive at Radisson Avenue – southbound traffic on Hudson Drive must now stop.
Both locations previously had Yield signs. The change from Yield to Stop signs was approved by Council on August 10, 2026, as part of updates to the Township’s Uniform Traffic By-law, By-law 95-18.
Motorists, particularly those who regularly travel through these intersections, are encouraged to watch for the new signage and be mindful of the change as everyone becomes familiar with the new traffic controls.

The Diabetes Canada clothing donation bin previously located at the Community Centre has been relocated to the Cultural Centre parking lot.
The move will make room for the installation of the new Curling Club sign at the Community Centre.
The donation bin isn’t gone. It just has a new home! Residents can continue to drop off eligible clothing and textile donations at the Cultural Centre parking lot.
