Superior North Community Futures Development Corporation (CFDC)

Superior North CFDC is a community-based, non-profit organization that is funded by the Federal Government of Canada to encourage and assist entrepreneurs with their pursuit of economic opportunities. Staffed by professionals and run by a board of local volunteers, they provide crucial support/training for potential business owners looking to start their businesses, as well as to existing businesses looking to improve. Thunder Bay & District Entrepreneur Centre (EC) – Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission

The Thunder Bay & District EC is a joint financial partnership between the Province of Ontario and the City of Thunder Bay. The main services that the EC offer range from providing information on various business topics to free, confidential one-on-one small business counselling, for both new and existing small businesses. Other services include: small business seminars, packages for Northwestern Ontario start-ups, information on financing and government programs, preparing a business plan, and referrals to other agencies/resources. Nishnawbe Aski Development Fund (NADF)

Nishnawbe Aski Development Fund is a non-profit Aboriginal Financial Institution (AFI) providing business financing and support services to Aboriginal entrepreneurs and businesses to establish, expand, or acquire a business in remote, rural and urban communities in Northern Ontario.
