Get Active and Get Engaged, Terrace Bay!

Posted on February 27, 2024

The Township of Terrace Bay is excited to announce the development of a new Recreation and Culture Master Plan, supported in part by funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. The Master Plan will serve as a blueprint for the Township’s many recreation and culture opportunities for residents, user groups and visitors, now and in the future.

The consulting firm of McQueen Galloway Associates (MGA) has been retained by the Township to complete all phases of this project. MGA understand the unique needs of small, northern communities like the Township of Terrace Bay. The Plan will be flexible and realistic, with short-, medium- and long-term strategies that will support and enhance access to recreation and cultural activities for everyone. Highlights of the Plan include:

  • Complete analysis of programming, facilities and parks, and benchmarking service standards
  • Determine if the current programs, services and events meet the needs of the community now and into the future
  • Analyze capacity for enhanced programming and events, including alternative delivery models
  • Review capital and operating budgets, providing insights on efficiencies and best practices
  • Evaluate current and future partnerships for sustainability and “value add” for the community
